MAGYAR NEMZETI GALÉRIA
(Hungarian National Gallery)

- The finest collection of Hungarian painting.
- Unique Hungarian wood and stone sculpture treasures: gothic winged altars museum of stonework finds from the middle ages.
- Habsburg crypt. Regular musical programs: on Sundays at 11 a.m. chorus music in the Cupola. Every other Tuesday at 12 p.m. free Hungarian Radio Concerts. It can be found in the Buda Castle Palace.

Open-air exhibit of removed Communist statues and sculptures.

SZÉPMŰVÉSZETI
MÚZEUM
(Museum of Fine Arts)

Built in 1906 as Hungarian eclectic architecture outstanding composition. Its collection contains most of the country's famous works of art with pictures and drawings from the world's 38 bestknown painters. There are more than 120 000 pieces of artwork kept here. It can be found in the 6th district Hősök tere.

 

MAGYAR NEMZETI MÚZEUM
(Hungarian National Museum)

- The first (oldest) public museum and the largest in Hungary.
- A thorough exhibit on the history of Hungary.
- Museum, where The Coronation Mantle is guarded.
Location: 8th district, Múzeum körút 14÷18, take Blue Metro line or Tram 47 or 49 two stops to Kálvin tér from Deák tér, walk back a bit. With the statue of Arany János, the writer, sitting in front of it it cannot be missed.

(Historical Museum of Budapest)

- Ruins of the Middle Ages royal palace and castle chapel.
- Budapest life in the middle ages exhibits.
- Knight's Hall Gothic statue collection.
- Special programs (chamber music and musical children's plays)
on Sundays at 11:30. Hours: every day 10:00 to 18:00, closed on Tuesdays. It can be found in the Buda Castle Palace.

Shows man and nature in the Carpathian Basin throughout the ages.

Relatively large private collection of rare Asian antique art.

Vast collection of the late great geometric artistís works.

Includes graphic works from his advertising years.
